True Blue Vintage; adding vintage
flare to the Junction
I
wandered into True Blue Vintage in the Junction thinking I would peak
in and see what was going on, not really to shop for myself.
You see I haven't really been much for vintage shopping since about
grade 10 in the mid 90's when grunge rock was huge.
Even then I am not sure I pulled it off, but I did rock a great pair of
vintage bell-bottom jeans.
But since then I haven't really found myself in vintage.
But True Blue vintage surprised me, and I found myself lusting after a
couple items, and they were even in my size.
True Blue carries everything from Gap from a few years ago (I saw a
jacket) to designer (I read there was a DVF dress) and true vintage
pieces that I am not really qualified to talk about.
What I
can say is I wandered in perusing the racks and found some coats that
were clearly not from the past two (even three?) decades that were so
fun.
One was a tweedy type winter coat, the other I REALLY
considered buying. It was a gray fur that was a swing style that would
have hit at the top of the hip. It was divine. It wasn't in primo
condition, the lining was worn but it oozed cool.
The next thing I fell in love with were the boots. The gray ones in
the picture above are fab aren't they? The cowboy boots aren't too
shabby either.
Shoes are tough though as size is an issue more so than clothes. Clothes you can tailor - shoes not so much.
Alot of vintage shops make me think I wish I knew how to pull this off because it is cool.
True
Blue has me thinking about making the drive back to the Junction to try
on that coat. But since there was only one I am sure it is gone.
Check out the the latest finds at 2919 Dundas West, in the Junction.
Store hours:
