Fall 2010 Preview

I know it is hard to think about fall clothing when it has been so hot lately but soon enough stores will be fully turned over from summer to fall merchandise.

You can already see it happening in stores like Joe Fresh and Gap.

So what trends can you expect to see in stores and what is totally wearable for Fall 2010?

Bootcut is BACK After a few seasons of less flattering pant styles (pleats and harem) the bootcut is back! This leg can emphasize a thick thigh so make sure you get a good fit.

Urban Country Fabrics and patterns tradionally associated with country living like plaids, checks and houndstooth are getting urbanized with cuts closer to the body. I am loving the buffalo bomber jacket above and its only $78!

Shearling, Fur and Feathers Embellishments are moving away from sparkle this season and moving toward a different kind of luxury. Shearling coats are the easiest of this trend to pick up on. If you don't do fur go faux. And feathers are easiest left for evening.

50's Housewife A 50's inspired look is incredible easy to pull off. This lady like look works as easily for mommy chic as it does for office appropriate. Whether you are wearing a day dress or an embellished cardi this is an easy addition to your wardrobe.

Military continued If you remember when I summarized the Spring Summer 2010 trends you would know that Military was big. It is going to continue to be important for fall. Keep wearing your skinny cargos with an oversized sweater or pick up a deeper green military inspired jacket - the washed out green is so Spring 2010.

Where we are doing our Toronto Shopping

NYLA - This Rosedale boutique is for those that want to shop like they are in New York or LA. This is a great shop if you love your contemporary lables.

Coco & Jules - This Rosedale boutique is kindof like your messy best friends bedroom. You never know what you will find if you take a moment to look.

Absolutely Inc - Shopping at one of the two Absolutely locations in Rosedale is kinda like getting 2 shops for 1. Part great interior design shop, part vintage accessories store.

Gerrard Street India Bazaar - Little India is definitely a cool multicultural Toronto neighbourhood. It is THE spot to shop for saree's and get authentic South Asian food.

What we are shopping for in Toronto

Shopping for plus sized clothing can be tough especially there isn't as many options. And then the options you do have not all of them are well ... fashionable.

Sexy Plus Clothing and Maximum Woman are two shops that have reacently teamed up in one retail location. They offer beautiful formal dresses as well as trendy plus sized clothing.
