TOPSHOP UK; Topshop Topman in Toronto

Topshop UK has invaded the colonies!

The Topshop Topman fast fashion sensation has opened its first Canadian stand alone location at Yorkdale Mall.

After a summer of pop up shops and small capsule collections fans of Topshop clothing no longer have to wait for vacation for the full shopping experience. 



Topshop is found as part of the Bay's Yorkdale location. Topman is on the main floor while the women's wear Topshop is on the second level.

The Bay has the exclusive franchise rights to Topshop in Canada and expect to see more of these store within a store as Topshop rolls out across the country.

But they aren't the first to offer a selection of Topshop. Ossington boutique Johnathan and Olivia has had a capsule collection of Topshop and Topman for some time.



As someone who really hadn't experienced shopping at a Topshop store overseas before it came to Toronto, save browsing Topshop online; I was really impressed.

Part H&M, part Urban Outfitters, plus part Brit pop, shoppers should check out Topshop just for the experience if nothing else. The store is super fun!

In fact the rest of the Bay felt quite austere in comparison.



Topshop clothing itself runs from wearable basics like pea coats and jeans to more fashion forward almost rock n roll items.

I found a great cotton blouse with large cutouts that has a bit of a boho chic feel.

Faux fur, maxi skirts and 70's silhouettes that rule the runways are also available at Topshop.



Topshop shoes section was like a gallery of shoe fantasy. I can't speak to the quality which is rumored to be less than fantastic due to use of man made materials.

Even the prices make you question Topshop UK's fast fashion status. Many of the tops and sweaters I saw were in the $70 price range which isn't exactly cheap chic.

That said the quality is definitely a step up from disposable fashion, especially if you steer clear of the overly trendy items.



Topshop Topman is found in Toronto at Yorkdale Mall as part of the Bay. You can also find a small selection at Johnathan and Olivia on Ossington.
