No the top 5 Toronto shopping events aren't just an average weekend for a shopoholic.

These are everything from sample sales to private shopping parties that offer special discounts, limited time locations and access to brands we can't always shop locally.

Whether you like to shop alone or with your friends and entourage Shopping Events add a bit of excitement to a standard shopping trip.



1. Shop Socials - If you think that shopping events are elitist and only for socialites think again. Tamika Auwai has been hosting shopping events for the past year for EVERYDAY socialites like you and me at affordable Toronto boutiques.

2. LouLou Magazine Extreme Shopping - More than just a one night shopping event (although they have that too), LouLou magazine has started sending daily deals to my inbox making EVERY DAY a shopping event with special discounts.

3. Petite Feet Sample Sale - Few sample sales show up with the same frequency as the Petite Feet Sample Sale. In fact there are two coming up in the next month. Sales are found in Toronto but more frequently in the GTA. Psssst, shoes come in all sizes not just "petite".

Watch for other warehouse type sales, especially from warehouse sale specialists Style Democracy.

4. One of a Kind, The Clothing Show et al - Depending on your stage in life or the time of the year there is likely to be some sort of scheduled shopping show that you can enjoy. Wedding shows, Mom & Baby shows, The Clothing Show plus even craft shows are held monthly all over Toronto. The biggest show up in one of three locations, The Exhibition, Metro Convention Center and Toronto Congress Centers.

5.  Pop Up Shops -Pop up shops have become extremely trendy lately. Showing up for a day, a weekend to months on end, no matter the duration these are limited engagements so shop accordingly.

Find out if your favourite boutique has Trunk Shows or styling events. Stores like Holt Renfrew and Mimi & Sheryl's have events that will help you get styling advice and have a fun night out shopping.
