Top 5 Shop and See Neighbourhoods; See the Sights and Shop
the Shops all in the same place.
The Top 5 Shop and See neighbourhoods offer the
opportunity for some great Toronto shopping mixed with some amazing
tourist attractions.
Chances are if you are coming to Toronto you want
to see some of the monuments, museums and historical sights.
But I am sure you don't want to waste your time buying yet another $5
novelty tee that you won't wear when you get home.
Instead spend your time shopping in Toronto at quality stores and get a
souvenir that you actually want to wear.
This top 5 shop and see guide will show you what shopping and tourist sites are in the
same neighbourhoods or within a short walk of one another.
1. Bloor - Bloor
Street is by far one of Toronto's most famous shopping
streets, but it is also home to the ROM and the Bata
Shoe Museum. Castle Loma is also close by with
a short subway ride north or a quick drive.
2. Queen West
- Home to the famous Much Music teens beg their parents
to see the latest bands and rockers. It is also like shopping at an out
door mall. Plus the CN Tower is a short walk south of
here as is the Rogers Center. Just north is the AGO.
5. Distillery District -
The
Distillery District is an amazing historical sight that has
been frequently used in movies (remember Cinderella Man?). But it is
also full of boutiques and working artist studios, plus restaurants and
galleries.
Honorable mention goes to College
Park which is a sight to see itself with its art deco
architecture. Shop one of Toronto's
best Winners and check out the neighbourhood to see the old
Maple Leaf Gardens and just north is the Panasonic Theater.
