Top 5 NYLA inspired boutiques

The top 5 NYLA inspired boutiques in Toronto have fashions from the two top American fashion cities; New York and Los Angeles.

They are a contraction though, one city is fast paced with super sleek designs whereas the other is inspired by the beach and is easy breezy.

Jeans, day dresses and statement bags abound at these NY LA shops.

1. Shop NYLA - Some might say this Rosedale boutique is the obvious first choice as the New York LA reference is right in the name. True. But this shop is one of the most authentic too with all the coveted brands in the shop from the Foley Corinna totes to DVF.

2. Want - Want Boutique is one of the two Toronto mini chains on the list and might just be the easiest to shop as it now has an online store.

3. Mendocino - Mendocino actually goes on buying trips further afield than the rest boasting fashions from Paris and Italy as well as NY & LA. Its true as I have seen Karl Lagerfeld's line here (no not Chanel people!). But you can see that NY & LA have a big influence on this Toronto chain.  

4. Your Clothes Friend - This Leaside shop is the least obvious choice of the bunch but definitely fits the NY LA vibe, albeit more for the over 35 crowd than the other selections.

5. Riant - Down south of King & Bathurst, Riant should almost be a NY LA & Paris boutique, but it has all sorts of coveted brands in a large fashionable shopping space next to the Thompson hotel.

An honorable mention goes to Cat tilt in West Queen West that has NY & LA inspired Yoga wear.  If you are looking for workout and casual wear that you don't see everywhere else (Lululemon, Nike, Adidas etc...) this is a spot to check out.
