The Target Apparel Orfus Road location is part of
an outdoor outlet area of Toronto.
While playing on the cache of the Target name, this Canadian owned
chain focuses on men's and women's clothing only unlike its American
counterpart which is more of a department store style shop.
Like many of the outlets on Orfus Road the clothing is super
inexpensive which of course has its trade offs.
It seemed that the Target Apparel stores started popping up in and
around Toronto at the same time as Target announced it was coming to
Whether or not this was a last ditch effort to keep the large American
retailer out of Canada or not, it doesn't matter; there is room for
both stores in the marketplace even if there will be a bit of confusion
regarding the names.
The feel of the stores is more Giant Tiger than Joe Fresh, but Giant
Tiger without all the grocery and home items.
Target Apparel Orfus Road just carries clothing. And for the most part it seemed
to me as though the chain is targeting a younger demographic with
trendier clothing at inexpensive prices. Think American Eagle mixed with Suzi Shear only cheaper.
For women what looked appealing were the little sundresses and floaty
tops. But stay away if you require any structure to your clothing to
hide physical flaws. This clothing is cheap just like the price.
Still if you want a down filled coat for less than $100, heck less than
$50, this is the store to check out. In fact I thought the outerwear
was pretty decent, but might not handle minus 50 weather.
I actually found the men's selection to be better than the women's in
this store. Especially when it came to casual tee and jeans.
Still don't expect to be able to work on Bay Street in anything you
find here. Check it out for casual weekend wear only.
If you are looking for classic styles at in expensive prices you are
better to shop at Joe
Fresh, but if you are looking for more trendy items, clothing
that is more dance club than country club than check out Target Apparel.
Target Apparel is open the following hours
Monday - Wednesday 10 am - 6 pm

Saturday 10 am - 6 pm
