Sherway Gardens; a west end mall with a bit of luxury
Sherway Gardens is one of Toronto's high end
malls found in the west end where Hwy 427 and the Gardener meet.
It has been the first choice for a number of retailers to launch their
new stores like Locale from Aldo Group and Scotch & Soda from
Unlike its more urban central countreparts Sherway is mainly all one
level except for the anchors like the Bay and Sporting Life.
I actually only started shopping at Sherway recently. When I lived in
Midtown Toronto it just didn't make sense to go there. Yorkdale and the
Eaton Centre were more accessable.
Now I live close to the Gardiner and even though I am in the East end
of Toronto it is really easy to get to Sherway making it a mall to shop
for those downtown not just those in the West end.
But with malls like Yorkdale and the Eaton Centre one might wonder why
shop at Sherway at all? Well there are a number of Sherway only shops
that make it worth the drive. New stores like Locale
& Soda, plus stores like Toni Plus, Honey
Boutique and Cassis.
Sherway tends to be more upscale so you don't have to waist your time
passing by a bunch of low end, low quality stores. On the flip side the
stores tend to have more expensive merchandise.
Sherway opens at 10 am like many other malls through the week.
If you get there too early there is a Smart Center adjacent to the
mall; some of these stores open at 9:30, like Old Navy.
