Seasonal Color Analysis was wildly popular in
the 1980's and is having a resurgence with stylists and individuals
trying to figure out their best colour combinations.
What seasonal colour analysis breaks down to is the determination of
what colours best flatter a persons skin tone. It is a way to look
better everyday, younger, healthier; even thinner.
What determines what colours suit us best is the undertone to our skin.
All humans have strong elements of red in our skin but the undertone
can be blue or yellow.
The seasons in season color analysis relate to a range of colours that
flatter a particular skin tone. Winter and Summer are "cool" or blue
undertone pallets, whereas Spring and Autumn are "warm" or yellow toned
pallets.
The difference between Winter and Summer or Spring and Autumn
respectively is that Winter and Spring colours are vibrant while Summer
and Autumn colours are more muted.
The colours the fall into each of the four seasonal categories are
reflective of the colours you see in nature during each of the seasons.
Winter colours
include crisp whites and blues, even deep purples and greens.
Spring colours
are bright and vibrant like spring flowers and new green growth on
plants. Think of yellowy greens, tulips and daffodils.
Summer colours
are richer. Think of the deeper grass green of July and August, hazy
summer sunsets and summer flowers like Dahlias.
Fall colours
are typical of the turning leaves, burnt oranges, browns and reds.
To perform the personal colour analysis you are going to need a range
of
colours to choose from and simply compare how you look with the blue or
yellow toned shades. You might even have stocked your wardrobe full of
the colours that best suit you.
But if you are like me you probably are less sure about what exactly
your season is and what looks best. In fact you might actually fall
into a range of seasons.
The best way to get a non biased opinion is to hire a stylist like

a friend along shopping who isn't afraid to tell you the truth.
