First in Kensington Market then on West Queen West it now calls the Danforth its home.
It is a refreshing change from the countless boutiques that cater only to twenty somethings and trendy items.
Parade stocks flirty dresses, casual pieces and work appropriate items.
It is a place you could build a wardrobe.

Not for the clothing that was stocked - everyone loved the clothing.
But for the service that was provided, particularly by the owner.
Boiling the negativity down to a few sentences this is what I learned.
People were unhappy with the shopping experience as the owner likes to style you while you try on items. Some found her "pushy".
Others were not happy with the return policy but from what I could tell it was fairly consistent with a small boutique which doesn't offer refunds beyond store credit and only for a short period of time.

I was definitely impressed with the selection of printed dresses and basics with a twist. (I love the top on the display above and it makes me want to go back to try it on!)
Lines like Juma, Micheal Kors, and Plenty by Tracey Reese are among the lines that are carried here.

I think that is what made Parade refreshing is that it carried items that were different from everyone else.
I also felt that anyone could really shop here.
A girl in her twenties could find a great dress and a woman in her 50s could find a great pair of flattering jeans and a fun top.
Who doesn't want a fun top??

Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt - everyone has an opinion and some are always negative.
That said if you are shy and prefer to shop without interference from the shop girls maybe Parade isn't the store for you.
Also if you want to have a liberal return policy because you aren't 100% sure about what you are about to purchase shop at a bigger chain store or somewhere you already trust.
