Outlet shopping Toronto; Finding the outlets in and around Toronto

Outlet shopping Toronto isn't as extensive as you might think.

Especially when you are looking only within the city. The outlets you will find are mainly associated with mall brands like Urban Planet or Roots.

In the GTA and a little beyond you can find alot more outlets than within Toronto proper but even still bargain hunters drive to the states for Coach and Rock & Republics.

This guide will help you find the outlet shopping closer to home here in Toronto.


Shopping the outlets assures you one thing - great deals. But sometimes it is at a cost.  

Many outlets give the impression that you are simply shopping off season, discounted merchandise.

When in truth outlets for labels like Club Monaco, Gap and Roots have a second line that is only sold at their outlet locations.

AND the reason it is cheaper than what you find in the regular stores as there is compromise for lower quality fabrics, fits and construction.

This means watch for shrinking, holes and wonky sizing.

You can find some sale merchandise from the retail market label just be aware that this isn't necessarily what the outlet has stocked for the majority of the store.

You will be safer with stores like Holt Renfrew Last Call where you really are getting deeply discounted items from the previous season.


Toronto Outlets

There aren't too many places to do your outlet shopping Toronto.

The main place to find Toronto outlet shopping is Orfus Road.

Also watch for M by Mendocino outlets in places like Yorkdale and the Yonge Eglinton Center for cheaper versions of what you find at Mendocino.

Other stores to watch for is Queen West's 5 on Spadina, Max's in Leslieville which both offer name brands at lower than retail.

Looking for off priced retailers like Winners? Try Riverside's Here & Now and Claudette's Designer Liquidation.

Other than these options you have to venture outside the city for all your outlets.

But really you don't have to go that far.



The latest and greatest addion to the outlet landscape is Vaughan Mills.

Its home to the first Gap and Banana Republic outlets for Canada plus this is where Holt Renfrew ships all the designer goods to discount them even further at Holt Renfrew Last Call.
 
Even closer is Dixie Outlet Mall as it is just west of Toronto off the QEW.

The great thing is that there isn't too much overlap with the stores at Vaughan Mills.

Look for stores like Winners, Nine West Outlet and Levis Outlet.
