K Barketti; a Bayview Village favourite moves to the Eglinton
Way
K Barketti is the type of place that those of us
in our thirties and younger might over look.
The tailored separates and mother of the bride suits and gowns speak to
an older generation.
But I was pleasantly surprised when I looked through all the dresses
that range in styles from full gowns to short and form fitting; there
is definitely something here for me too.
The front half of the Eglinton Ave shop is filled with separates that
range from day, work appropriate to a night function or wedding guest
attire.
All of the pieces are classic lines and tailored silhouettes. While a
young girl could easily rock any of the outfits, they are most likely
to appeal to a more mature clientel.
Where I could see shopping at K.Barketti is at the back of the store.
Where the evening dresses range from sexy form fitting numbers to gowns
and bridal party appropriate
dresses.
I can easily see the mother of the bride (or grandmother for that
matter) finding an amazingly chic outfit.
Or I can see a fashion froward teen find the best prom dress ever.
Sizes also range unto 28, so girls looking for plus size special
occasion dresses don't have to settle for something matronly.
There are a number of designers, some that are exclusive to the
K.Barketti stores. Look for Joseph Ribkoff and Velika K. Both are
designers making their clothing in Canada the former is exclusive to
K.Barketti.
There are two locations for this boutique. One is at Square One in
Mississauga, the second is in Toronto on the Eglinton Way.
The Eglinton Avenue location replaces the long standing shop at Bayview
Village.
