Imelda Shoes; A 40's pinup feel to
a shoe boutique on Roncesvalles
Imelda
Shoes is the sister boutique to Frock and both are found in Toronto's Roncesvalles
Village.
And while Frock is all about dresses and women's clothing Imelda is all
about shoes.
You won't find any Jimmy Choo sky high heels and many of the styles
are rounded toes, still I can picture many of the shoes paired with a
summer
dress or pencil skirt for a pefectly feminine look.
Imelda isn't exactly your typical Toronto shoe store. You won't find
your standard work appopriate snakeskin pumps. Imelda is a bit more
downtown than Bay street.
Instead there are 40's inspired t-straps and mary janes. Shoes perfect
for a summer dress instead of a powersuit.
While the majority of the stock is for women there is a selection of
mens shoes as well.
They range from funky sneakers to desert boots and even some leather
lace ups that could work for the office.
The selection of hats fit perfectly with the 40's vibe.
Cloches and wide brimed straw sun hats. Plus fedoras for men.
Imelda's
prices are pretty reasonable.
Shoes run about $100 which is faily
standard for leather shoes.
Even though I don't usually go for a rounded toe shoe I was surprised
at how many styles I actually wanted to try on.
If you are looking for an alternative to your usual shoe store and
looking to add a pop of colour or need a shoe that goes with your
favourite dress Imelda is a good place to start.
You can shop Imelda along Roncesvalles
Ave, a short walk north from Queen.
