Fashion Crimes describes itself as one of the
first independent designers to set up shop on Queen West.
What is surprising is that while many other designers have moved west
and east or just to other areas in Toronto to avoid sky high rents,
this funky boutique has endured.
Now set against mall stores and big brands Pam Chorley's shop is full
of whimsy and glam.
Walking into the store it is easy to get overwhelmed by the selection.
There are literally dresses EVERYWHERE.
But I think that is part of the fun. If you are looking for a dress
take a few moments to walk around and take it all in; there are dresses
for all types and occasions. That said you are more likely to find a
special occasion dress as opposed to a work appropriate day dress.
Cocktail dresses that would work for everything from a garden party, to
prom or a bridal party seem to be the most popular items. Many of these
dresses are inspired by a 50's silhouette and can be found in an array
of colours.
There are gorgeous gowns that scream Hollywood glamour and there is
even a section of wedding dresses. What makes this store unique is that
you can buy a wedding dress off the rack or go custom.
Keep in mind that you are less likely to find something simple and
understated at this shop.
Instead Pam Chorely takes a dress and makes it everything from funky to
glam or even punk. Just by adding over sized rosettes or putting a
minidress in an out there fabric, you are going to find a dress that is
different than the rest.
There are even styles for young girls and the beauty of all this off
the rack selection is that you can take your bridal party and get a
dress TODAY.
