Anything you DIY can be found in the city.
From button shops to knitting spots there is an abundance of places for crafters to flock.

Here you will find Arton Beads plus many other bead shops. The prices along Queen are more competitive than in other parts of the city.
Although no longer home to Mac Fab, my all time favourite fabric store, this area still houses a number of fabric shops. Each specializes in something different, whether it be home interiors, wool or discount items.
You will also find three knitting shops and a store dedicated to buttons only.
This is where you will find Sarah Richardson looking for fabric and buttons for those fantastic pillows she makes for clients!
Make sure that if you haven't found the store you want to keep walking west as some of these DIY shops spill over into West Queen West
Look for European fabrics along
Corso Italia
Mac Fab is moving East in January 2010. Check them out in Riverside
If you like to shop this big chain and have their membership card, check out Fabricland on Bloor Street (in the underground mall of the Bay)
Psst there is another Fabricland location over by Yorkdale on Dufferin!
Look for the Purple Purl in Leslieville plus other knitting and yarn shops along Avenue Road. There is also the Knit Cafe and Romi Wools in West Queen West. Americo Originals is in the Fashion District.
If you don't mind paying more or want to take classes check out Yonge Davisville for bead shops and a great sewing machine store.
