Elegant Garage Sale

The Elegant Garage Sale is one of those places where you can find a hidden gem.

Its a place where Toronto designers shop for fixer uppers and make them shine on their tv programs.

This Leaside shop features mostly furniture but you will also find books, toys, jewellery and collectibles.

The prices vary from actual garage sale prices to more inline with antique stores.

I found that the real deals are often found in the basement so don't forget to look there.

The night stand on the right was only $25! I saw the same one in Leslieville for $75.

I could see this peice with a coat of paint in a bright tomato red or pink. Maybe even sanded and re-stained and it would look amazing!

The dresser was over $400 but the note with the pricing was quick to point out the dove tail detailing.

In addition to all the fantastic furniture that can be found I have also seen lots of collectibles.

Once I saw a whole set of the Bunnykins dishes and figurines.

Another item there seems to be no shortage of are vintage single beds.

There was one I had my eye on when I was pregnant. For $475 we could have had a single sleigh bed for our daughter.

Sometimes I kick myself for the deals I let pass me by.

If you are looking for an alternative to Toronto's antique stores and want to fix something up yourself, this is a great place to find some great old stuff.
