Cocos Closet; a west end designer consignment boutique

Cocos Closet is a designer consignment boutique found in Toronto's west end.

Started by former Holt Renfrew buyer Nadia Trelle, Coco's prides itself on being selective and current with the merchandise it chooses.

Gucci purses, Hermes Scarves plus plenty of contemporary lines like Theory and Marc Jacobs make this consignment shop perfect for a younger generation.



Usually when I visit consignment boutiques I am either overwhelmed by the amount of clothing that trying to find something great means sifting through all of the so-so clothes.

Or I enter a store so small and packed that the easiest way to shop is to wait for the window to change.

Coco's is different. Nadia's background gives her the expertise to be picky and only take things that are fabulous.

Marc Jacobs bag $300

There is a good mix of contemporary and luxury brands. Like Manolo Blanik pumps or seven jeans. I have even seen Prada and Escada suits.

Pricing is consistent with other consignment boutiques.

Expect items to cost anywhere from 30% to 60% of retail. You can expect discounted designer denim, jeans that would usually run you from $200 - $300 to be around $65.

Luxury purses from brands like Marc Jacobs and Mulberry will run you around $500 but since these purses were originally $1000 or more this is a steal.

Many of the items Nadia showed me were rarely worn. Some still had tags on. I was impressed at the lack of wear on some of the leather purses.

Coco's is more than just cute bags and designer jeans. There are suits from Holt Renfrew, Theory and Prada. 

Makage coats went like hotcakes this winter. 

Depending on what you are looking at you might have to move fast. Desirable luxury brands turnover quickly. Some don't even make it to the shelves. On the flip side contemporary items priced at or lower than $100 tend to turnover quickly as well.
