Cats Meow Couture; specializing in 1950's through the 70's vintage

Cats Meow Couture is found on Avenue Road just north of Davenport & Avenue. It is a small but glam vintage shop that specializes in mostly dresses and accessories from the 1950's to 70's.

I really think a great way to take your (and my) wardrobe to the next level is with vintage. But unless you spend your life hanging out at music festivals you need to find a vintage shop that caters to a bit more sophisticated clientel.

Yes prices are not bargain basement at Cats Meow but the pieces are gorgeous and many have rarely been worn.



Cats Meow is somewhere you go for a truly unique event dress. One that bucks trends and is quite simply fabulous.

Dresses were arranged according to colour so it is easy to narrow in on a shade or hue that suits you best.

I love this saffron coloured dress. I actually have a dress this colour and would LOVE to add feathers to the hem.



In addition to the amazing selection of gowns, cocktail dresses and even day dresses you are bound to find some sort of outerwear that compliments your fancy attire.

Whether it be a fur shrug or stole, or a decadent cashmere full length coat, you don't have to worry about your regular coat not complimenting your outfit.

One find that I am dying to go back and try on was a pony jacket that was in mint condition and would be a great substitute for a blazer for the office or even just fab with jeans.



Cats Meow Couture has a wondrous selection of accessories as well. In addition to the display case of blinged out jewellery, there are shoes and bags.

But not just any old shoes and bags. Chanel Shoes and Chanel bags! Watch out though because coveted brands go FAST.



I think that my vintage tastes have definitely grown up since my high school days of the 1990's when "grunge" ruled my playlist and vintage jeans were a true find.

Now I am looking for glamour and think that the next wedding season I will show up in a dress no one else has and Cats Meow will be one Toronto vintage boutique I will shop for sure!
