Alternatives to Gap Essential Jeans

What are my alternatives now that Gap no longer makes the "essential jean"?

torontoshopoholic.com Answer - I too was a fan of the Essential Jean and was sad when it was no longer part of Gap's new denim line.

However after doing some shopping I realized that the Essential Jean is effectively a looser fitting Trouser jean.

I found that the 7 for all Mankind Ginger was a good fit for me, and also liked the trouser jeans from Fidelity Denim and David Kahn.

If you are looking for a less expensive jean try Banana Republic they have added a trouser jean to their denim selection.

Also since skinny jeans seem to be common everywhere and trouser jeans not as much try shopping at a denim specialty store for better selection of leg widths and rises.

LL Bean is My Answer
by: Aiea Nana

Have been wearing Gap Essential Jeans for a while. Time for some replacement jeans and I found out the Essential line has been discontinued. Uggh! I am a "curvy" shape looking for a mid-rise, straight leg jean. Finally found it on the WEB at LL Bean. The Favorite Jean Curvy Fit Bootcut Misses' may be called "bootcut" but they are as straight leg as the Essentials. This cut comes in Petite, Misses, and Womens. AND cost less than the essentials. $39.95

Now all I have to worry about is if the line will also be discontinued!
